Born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts, Chris Marakovitz spent his formative years selling hot dogs at Fenway Park, where he gained an early acquaintance with the core elements of comedy and tragedy as a loyal fan of the Boston Red Sox. At St. Kevin’s elementary school he was tortured by nuns and developed a lifelong aversion to wearing ties. He first discovered an interest in screenwriting and television writing as a TV-Radio-Film major at Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York, from which he eventually graduated with a B.S. degree and a firm resolve to live in a warm weather climate. His first screenplay “Reverse Action,” a gritty drama set in Atlantic City, was named a semi-finalist for the Don and Gee Nicholl Screenwriting Fellowship and a second round selection at the Austin Film Festival Screenwriting Contest. Chris has also penned spec episodes of shows such as “Rescue Me” and “House” as well as an original pilot called “Pushing Forty,” developed in collaboration with Scarlet Fire Productions in Los Angeles.
